Creating a Gifted Project

Welcome Grateful Getter and thanks for choosing us! We know you’re in the right place.

So, you want to create your very own Gifted Project? Awesome! Before we get started telling you how, make sure you take a look at our Getters Guide. There’s some really great info for you there.

Alright. Here’s the step-by-step on making your project. First, do you already have a Gifted Coin login? If not, follow the steps here to get one.

Screen Shot 2017-05-24 at 12.30.10 PMLog in to your Gifted Coin account. Once there, click Raise Funds in the navigation bar. Raise Funds takes you to the first step of creating a project.

Fill In Project Details

To submit a Gifted Project for approval, you will need to enter specific details telling us what your project is all about. Once you’ve filled in each field, you’ll be ready to submit your project for approval!

Name & Goal Amount

The first thing you’ll do is pick a name that clearly states what you’re fundraising for. Next up, you’ll choose the total amount of donations you want to receive. After you enter your project name and goal total, click the next button.

Confirm Your Project Name

That yellow next button will take you to the full project form. The first field will automatically have the project name you entered on the previous page. You can make changes now if you’d like.

Decide On Your Goal Amount

You’ll also see the goal you entered on the first page automatically filled in here. If you’re not sure you picked the right amount, take a look back at the Getters Guide. It has some great recommendations on this too. How much do you want to raise? You can only reach a goal if you know what it is. Aim high, but be realistic. Keep all of the potential costs in mind. Having and sharing a specific goal inspires and motivates givers to feel they can make a real difference in your project.

Choose Your Fundraising Timeline

Here you’ll enter the number of consecutive days you want the fundraiser to run for. How much time would you like to raise funds for your Gifted Project? Take a look at the Getters Guide if you’re having trouble deciding.

Put It On Video

The Getters Guide has some good tips on this one. It’s optional, but seeing your face and hearing your story will connect to people in a way that the written word can’t. Take time to think about and record your project’s story. Once you’ve shared your Gifted Project on video and uploaded it to YouTube, paste the link into this field. We’ll automatically pull your video from YouTube and display it on your project page.

Note: Only paste the regular URL link to your video. Don’t worry about getting the embed code or anything complicated like that. Our system does that for you.

Tell Your Project’s Story

By answering the following three questions, you will cover the most important part of your Gifted Project: its story.

  1. Start by telling us who or what the project will benefit and why it’s needed. Outline the problem faced. Who is going to receive the money and why?
  2. Explain why this project has so much personal meaning to you. Why do you care about this?
  3. Share the solution you have come up with. What will the money raised do to help the problem you explained in question 1?

Offer Rewards

Rewards are a great way to say thanks to everyone who gave to your project! You can add rewards in this Gifts section. You can either select rewards to offer from our recommended Gifted Goodies list or create your own reward tiers and gifts.

If you do not want to offer rewards, leave this section as is and move on to the next one.

Choose From Our Gifted Goodies

The Gifted Coin team creates a list of handpicked potential rewards, called Gifted Goodies, that you can use in your gift levels. Remember that the cost of these gifts will be deducted from your final fundraising amount. Select which gift levels you want to include by checking the boxes to the left.

Note: The numbers shown represent gift levels, not the cost of the Gifted Goodie.

Create Your Own Rewards

To set up your own gift levels for the people who connect and give to your project, select, “No thank you, I’d rather create my own gifts,” and then click the Create Your Gift link. Several fields will appear for you to add reward information. You will need to enter

  • The donation amount that must be given to receive this reward
  • The name of the reward for this gift level
  • A description of the reward
  • The total quantity of this reward available to givers
  • The date when givers will receive their reward

Remember that rewards not only offer a great incentive to givers, but they help you say “thanks!” too. Get creative. After you fill in each field, click submit. You can then add as many gift levels and reward options as you want.
